How the mind does

So my friend Mark called me up for a little chat the other day and mentioned that my blog had been a little “gaming-centric” lately. Like maybe I wasn’t reaching out to my core audience, which I think has grown to the five of you now.
I say, fair enough. No more Nintendo talk until the Wii comes out or until my NTDOY stock plumits, I go bankrupt, and I have to put that html page on my site that says, “Server Not Found”. I could just say it was an executive design decision, but I try that at my job all the time and it never works. It’s just because in advertising everyone wants you to have a reason for making creative choices. People will literally ask you in meetings, “How did you come up with this?”, and “Why did you choose this color?”. Two years working and I still don’t have a gracious answer for, “I thought it up”, and “Because it can’t be fucking ‘clear’, can it?”.
And there’s more where that came from. Because if I can’t talk about gaming, I will bitch about work.
