Salon.com has a great article about young, up and coming IIT students in India who have become “unsocialized zombies” by spending all their time in the dorms on their computers.

The Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay announced new restrictions on Internet use this week for students living in IIT “hostels” — the Indian equivalent of college dormitories. From 11 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., Internet use will be sharply curtailed. That means no more locally networked games of CounterStrike, chatting, downloading of movies, hacking or otherwise tripping the Web fantastic.

The website has a selection of very interesting videos that I assume are snippits from the show. This one is called The Science of Relapse is an interesting look into how the brain rewards behaviors in an addict. Doctors are basically trying to figure out how to program the brain to correct the rewards system… much like a game. One wonders if the kids in Bombay could beat them to it.
